What are smart contracts? Can they really self-regulate? Could they replace law sometimes with e.g. escrow? A walk-through with chief solutions architect Jörgen Modin first of smart contract concepts and then of the code of a Rell smart contract on the Chromia platform.

4:30 Smart contracts part starts
14:36 The 2-party smart contract description and prototype code start

Some corrections and additions to the talk:
* Ethereum did not back up the blockchain in connection with the DAO, but instead selectively edited it
* Last initial in RSA is Adleman, not Adelson
* The code at the end, although working (barring typos), is not very idiomatic Rell. The reason is that it relies on a user generated key, while relations in Rell can be expressed directly and implicitly with the row_id property
* There is reportedly actually a live system using two party escrow now: The distributed exchange Bisq, however they donate the money instead of burning it
